A song that transports you back to a time when a little bit of tele twang was as common as renting your favourite flick on VHS. “Wish You Were My Beer” sees Blake tackle the time-honoured trope of the drinking song, in typical Country music fashion – vivid images of an empty barroom, set to a soundtrack of mournful steel guitar. It’s his fourth single on which he’s the sole writer and third time collaboration with Central Coast based producer and bass player, Simon Johnson (Troy Cassar-Daley, Amber Lawrence, Adam Harvey).
