TCMF2020 Done and Dusted!

Another year and another Tamworth comes to an end… and what a cracker it was this year!

Our first gig was at the Atrium stage off Peel st – we performed there at 2:30 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during the festival. The stage run by Capital Country Radio featured mostly small acoustic ensembles/soloists, so our electric trio was a little louder than the crowd was used to. But still, great times were had!

Next it was off to the Fanzone Stage at 4:20. Good crowd, good vibes.

After a late lunch break we headed over to the Longyard Hotel for the TSA awards night. I had two songs as finalists in two different categories and was lucky enough to win one. An unreleased song of mine won the ‘Country Rock Song of the Year’ category.

That was it for Tuesday… The next day started with a solo acoustic set at the Post Office Hotel. This turned out to be my favourite gig of the festival – I played a lot of new material to a very appreciative crowd!

After our regular Atrium spot we headed over to the Imperial Hotel and caught up with fellow Sydney honky tonk band – Cruisin’ Deuces. They had Ethan (the drummer from my trio gigs) and I up for a couple of songs.

The next day, after our final Atrium spot, it was time to get the hell outta dodge. A short and sweet three days was enough for me and I had gigs back home in the next few days. Safe to say we’ll be back next year for more fun!
